Top RPG’s for Holiday Deals

We know you all are probably enjoying all of the festivities and banter surrounding the holiday times this year, but with Black Friday deals still going on and Cyber Monday coming up fast, I’m here to give you all my Top 3 picks for RPG’s to pay attention to this weekend!

Nier: Automata

A JRPG released worldwide in March of 2017. Developed by Platinum Games, published by SquareEnix and written by the famed Yoko Taro. The story  involves you taking the role of combat androids from the YoRHa units across an open world environment. Specifically, you’ll be commanding the 2B unit with the help of your 9S unit to work for the Resistance on Earth where you help clear out the antagonist heavily guarded machine territories.

This game has received high praise across both PS4 and PC platforms and such that globally, it’s been reported that over 1,500,000 copies of the game have been shipped worldwide as of the end of May 2017.

Persona 5

A JRPG developed by Atlus for the PS3 and PS4 as part of the 6th Persona series game for the larger Megami Tensei universe. You, the player takes on the role of a high school student who lives out a single year while attending high school in Tokyo. However, he is a part of a notorious gang of thieves called the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Besides their outward appearance, this is a group of people who must face dark forces by harnessing Personas, manifestations of their inner psyche.

Persona 5 received universal praise as being one of the best RPG’s of all time by many. Two days after its international release, Atlus announced that Persona 5 had sold 1.5 million units, including physical shipments and digital sales. By July, worldwide shipments had reached 1.8 million!

Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This JRPG developed by Nintendo for the Wii U as well as the Switch, was a fantastic way to open up the new console. As part of the larger Zelda series, you follow the protagonist Link as he wakes up from a long slumber to a mysterious voice that tells him to defeat Ganon before he destroys Hyrule. The best part about this game is its Open world content, over 12 times larger than Twilight Princess. Also, it gives you little instruction and urges you to explore the open world yourself as you continue on in the story.

Breath of the Wild received universal acclaim from critics, who deemed it to be one of the greatest video games of all time, and was the recipient of over 17 awards (with the latter 2017 awards still pending). By September 2017, total worldwide sales of the Switch version of the game exceeded 4.70 million, making it the system’s best-selling title.
